Cllr Barry Birch, Economy Port Folio holder, chaired the meeting and introduced Wyred Up to a huge business audience of around 135 delegates who had come along to hear and be introduced to the new Chief Executive of Wyre Borough Council Donna Hall CBE.

Dr Stephen Winkley Head teacher of Rossall School welcomed everyone to the school and gave an overview of what the school can offer businesses in the area. the head teacher introduced the class of year 5 to the businesses attending and they literally stole the show following a visit to Wyred Civic Centre last year they gave a presentation about how they had engaged with Cleveleys businesses and slogans they had come up with to promote Cleveleys.  Their approach and slogans made the business delegates sit up and take notice in fact they were “blown away” one of the Cleveleys slogans they introduced was” Visit Cleveleys you’ll be blown away”  Jane Littlewood the Web author behind the Visit Cleveleys website is looking to work with the children and build on this work and incorporate some of what they have done into the Visit Cleveleys website.

The speakers were intersperced with members of the audience - businesses who had volunteered to make a one minute business pitch to introduce themselves and their services to the assembled audience of well over 100 captive business people! One minute is actually a long time to fill and many of them didn't manage to use all their time,

Wyred Up quarterly network meetings are attended by people from businesses all over the Borough and from all kinds of different backgrounds. Well over 100 businesses can be found at each event, and it's not the same faces each time, with a majority of new attendees coming to each event.

Put your name down for the next event and make sure you get your business Wyred Up!
